feature ideation : Report cards

In strengthening the Care product, the team’s strategy is to integrate a number of small, yet very impactful changes to provide the best user experience to our users. One particular feature we believe that will help create more quality in our services are report cards. Report cards are to be completed by our caregivers, and then shared with families after the booking is completed. These reports may include details about meals, sleep, activities, photos, and any other important information about how the booking went.

OBJECTIVE

To design comprehensive report cards for childcare and pet care verticals as our first feature test release. If the feature proves successful, we will roll out in other verticals in the future. Childcare and pet care verticals remain one the top revenue generating businesses for Care.com.

Challenge

This is a brand new feature which we believe will be a “nice-to-have,” but necessary addition to our product. The thought is that this report card feature would help generate more trust in our caregivers, as well as provide extra quality in our overall services. We hope that this investment would over time increase our revenue and user conversion rate.

PET WALKING TRACKER

In the future, we’d like to incorporate a tracker for walking pets for our caregivers. This way, we can continue to ensure we provide quality, trust, and record information for families to feel reassured that their pets are in the best care.

 

Next steps

These designs were created in 2-weeks due to internal business constraints. The hope is that we’ll be able to pull the most essential pieces of the report card design to create an MVP flow. From there, we will release an MVP design to begin monitoring how well our users engage with the experience. With that information, it will help pave our way in designing the best report card experience for the future.
