Domio was a technology platform focused on the travel sector, encompassing real estate, hospitality, and design with an emphasis on social connections. The company offered curated vacation rentals and branded apartment-hotels, focused on group travelers. Their mission was to connect the world through travel.

The Domio Guest App is the first native app for Domio. This app is the one-stop-shop experience for guests to login to their account to view their reservations, guest portal, and rewards progress.

OBJECTIVE

To design Domio’s first native app that will allow guests to easily view any relevant information about their reservation. In this experience, they’ll be able to login or signup for an account, customize their profile, view their reservations, share reservations, access their guest portal for their upcoming stay, track rewards, and visit staydomio.com to browse and book more stays. I hope to integrate more relevant features in the future that will help make staying at Domio a more seamless experience for our guests.

This app is meant for Domio guests to use as their one-stop-shop resource in referencing information about their stay. Once a guest successfully books a stay with Domio, they can download the Domio Guest App and sign in with their email. They’ll see their new reservation along with details to prepare them for their trip. Within the app, they’ll be able to navigate through their history of reservations, guest portal, rewards, explore other Domio stays (as well as book another stay), and adjust or review their settings.

The Domio Guest App launched in March 2020 after I had left the company. The product still has quite a journey of exploration, testing, and reiterating to become the best experience for Domio guests.  

Potential new features: 

  • E-commerce shop where guests can shop for furniture, lighting, home goods, art, and decorative pieces found in our curated spaces

  • Incorporate direct booking

  • Increase of new guests/accounts created, encouraged by the coupon code sharing

  • New findings of how to make the next iteration more delightful 

As for next steps, the current team will continue to monitor the progress of the program, send out a survey to collect feedback, and plan for more user testing to understand how they can improve the next version of the Guest app.
